Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)

Weatherization is a home modification program designed to lower the amount of energy a home consumes to make it more affordable and efficient. Approved measures include Air infiltration Reduction, Indoor Air Quality, Insulation, Window and Door replacement, Appliance Replacement, Energy Efficient Lighting, and some additional Health and Safety Measures. All work orders are based on the results of a no-cost energy audit that is performed by a State Certified Weatherization Inspector.

DEO/WAP-The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Weatherization Assistance Program is a federally funded program designed to lower the energy bills for homes that fall with 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines based on family size. Funding is available for single-family, site built or mobile homes. Rented homes may be weatherized with the owner's permission.

WAP/SHIP- A leveraging strategy that extends weatherization to homes that fall into 120% of the Area Median Income Guidelines based on family size. In order for a home to qualify for SHIP, the house must be an owner-occupied, single-family, site-built home of any age or a manufactured home that was constructed after 1994.
