Pursuant to Florida Statutes - Chapter 119, publicrecords requests do not require respondingagencies to create new public records, to createnew composites of public records, or to translateand produce information from existing publicrecords.
Be advised that you may incur mandatorystatutory fees by making a public records request.A government agency that responds to a publicrecords request is entitled to payment for theservices rendered even if you advise the agency,after-the-fact, that you no longer wish to inspector obtain copies of such records. Also note thatFlorida has a broad public records law and thatany communication with the County could beconsidered a public record.
Be further advised that if the language of yourpublic records request is unduly ambiguous orvague and the Custodian cannot identify thepublic records being sought that the Custodianhas not denied your public records request.Instead, you will be notified that additionalinformation is necessary for the Custodian toidentify and produce the records sought.
