Florida Retirement System Information

Completing Retirement Forms

Once a Monroe County employee has made the decision to retire, it is necessary for the employee to contact the Human Resources Department to obtain the required retirement forms. This is a very important step in your retirement process. DO NOT DELAY in contacting the department. Once you have received your forms, complete them and send them to the Human Resources Office for further processing.

Florida Retirement System (FRS) Annual Report

The FRS Annual Report reflects the financial operation and condition of the state-administered retirement systems. The publication contains financial statements, actuarial comments, investment information, and statistical data on the retirement systems.

Retirement Planning

With baby boomers beginning to retire, there are a myriad of questions from employees on how to prepare for and what to expect from Social Security. The Social Security Administration (SSA) has created a special resource page that includes an online retirement planner that lets employees compute estimates of their future Social Security benefit. It also provides useful information for employees on factors affecting retirement benefits, such as military service, household earnings, and federal employment.
