The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was created on June 30, 1983, by the Monroe County BOCC through Ordinance 018-1983. There are a total of five board members, who serve four-year terms. Each member represents a district and is appointed by the BOCC commissioner in that district. The duties of the advisory board include:
The advisory board meets quarterly each year and encourages public input at every meeting. The members are tasked with providing the Monroe County BOCC with a report of their activities and recommendations throughout the year.

There will not be a Parks & Rec meeting in October.
